A simple daily skincare routine for Indian skin

You do not need ten products. Four steps done consistently are worth more than a long routine done occasionally.

Strong sun, humidity and pollution mean skin in India faces a lot every day. The good news is that a good routine can be short.

Morning

  1. Cleanse with a gentle face wash suited to your skin type.
  2. Moisturise — even oily skin needs hydration; choose a light gel.
  3. Sunscreen — SPF 30 or above, broad-spectrum, every day, even indoors near windows. Reapply every 2–3 hours if outdoors.

Night

  1. Cleanse to remove sunscreen, dust and oil.
  2. Treat — if your doctor has advised an active such as a retinoid, use it as directed.
  3. Moisturise to support the skin barrier.

Common mistakes

  • Over-scrubbing and over-washing
  • Trying many new products at once
  • Skipping sunscreen because the day is cloudy

Persistent acne, pigmentation or sensitivity deserves a proper skin assessment rather than experimenting with more products.
